Have Your Diamond Checked
Have your diamond checked by a qualified goldsmith every year. Most stores will simply clean it and check to see if the diamond is tight. I recommend that you ask the goldsmith to adjust the prongs and retighten them.

Compare the Prongs
Compare the prongs that are over the top of the diamond to those of a new ring in the jewelry counter. When the prongs are about 1/3 to one half as thick as those on a newer ring, it’s time to replace them. If you follow these two tips, your diamond will stay securely in the ring.

Storage of Your Diamond
Store your diamond so it doesn’t rub against other jewelry. Allowing a diamond to touch another diamond or gemstone will leave small scratch marks on the stone which will dull the diamond over time.

Cleaning
Put your diamond in a jewelry cleaning solution at night and rinse it off in the morning. It will always sparkle and catch attention.

Cleaning Solution
Change your jewelry cleaning solution every six months. Otherwise, it will start leaving a film on the diamond and cause it to lose sparkle.
